Monika Kaden uses her drawings of human bodies as a tool to find forms, proportions, and movement for her three-dimensional work, sketch thoughts for installations, and show customers the first stages of her concept.

Most drawings - and the viewer sees only a few in this portfolio - are rendered in pencil and charcoal on paper, sometimes hand-colored with watercolor or pastels. The drawings are in different sizes - from very large studies for monuments to miniatures for small work.
